Fees for Assessments and School Visits are dependent upon the presenting problem/referral question. For more detailed information or any other queries please contact my clinic administrator, Jen - info@mtpsychology.com.au

Fees that are subject to Medicare Rebates can be claimed directly following your appointment via EasyClaim. Please ensure you bring your Medicare and debit cards if you wish to participate. Rebates for these services are available to clients who have been referred by a medical practitioner managing the client under a GP Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), or on referral by a psychiatrist or paediatrician. Private health insurance claiming (HICAPS) is also available for selected insurers.

Payment

Payment is required on the day prior to or at the end of each consultation. Payment can be made via cash, bank cheque, EFTPOS, or credit card.

Time & Punctuality

A consultation will usually last 50 to 60 minutes. If you are late, your consultation will usually still finish at the scheduled time, to be fair to your psychologist and clients with appointments following yours.

Cancellation Policy

At least 24 hours’ notice is required to allow a reasonable time to fill that appointment time.  If, for some reason, you need to cancel your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice, otherwise you will be charged a cancellation fee of $15 that will be added to the fee of the next appointment.

You will not be charged a cancellation fee if you are able to provide 24 hours’ notice and reschedule that appointment when you notify reception.

Medicare or health insurance rebates are not applicable to cancellation fees. Exceptional or unforeseen circumstances may be considered with regard to applying the cancellation fee.

Policies for Parent Consultations and Child Therapy Sessions

Please note that the initial parent consultation appointment occurs without the child being present to enable parents to talk openly about their concerns and goals for intervention.

Parents may be asked to participate or observe therapy sessions with their child, and this may vary from across the course of intervention. Michela will decide if parent involvement in sessions is appropriate and inform you of your role at the time of the appointment. In most cases, Michela will provide parents with information about what occurred during the session and any tasks to be completed in between sessions.

Confidentiality

All personal information gathered by the MT Psychology during the provision of the psychological service will remain confidential and secure except where:
1. It is subpoenaed by a court; or
2. Failure to disclose the information would place the client or another person at serious and imminent risk.

MT Psychology will obtain your approval to speak with other professionals providing a service to your child and/or family (e.g., Speech and Language Pathologist), referring medical practitioners, or teachers and other school staff (i.e., parental permission will be sought through the Consent to Exchange Information Form).
